ELL/MLL Tutor

Grades JK-12

 

Job Goal:

The Beresford School district is now accepting applications from qualified individuals for an ELL/MLL Tutor position at our elementary school.  This position would be for ELL students identified in grades JK-12.  This is an hourly wage position for 35 hours per week during teh school year.  Paid sick leave, personal leave, and nine paid holidays.  Insurance retirement benefits are included.

 

Responsibilities:

• Provide academic intervention to individual students and small groups of 2 to 5 students who qualify for ELL/MLL tutoring.
• Provide skill develoopment reflective of students' academic needs in order to assist stuents in attaining the grade level standards.
• Review and utilize district standardized assessment data to determine students' individual learning needs, including ACCESS to inform the development of a Student Learning Plan.
• Complete all record keeping, write student learning plans and progress reports, track student attendance, and log tutor hours.
• Communicate with classroom teachers about academic goals.
• Communicate with parents and guardians as needed.
• Incorporate best English language develoopment and literacy practices into tutor sessions.

 

Qualifications:

• ELL/MLL Endorsement preferred but not required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
• Background in Spanish language preferred.
• Experience teaching or working with ELL students preferred.
• Basic computer literacy required.

 

Position reports to District's ELL/MLL Coordinator and Building Level Principal's.
